Narrative Summary

In the ever-advancing Automotive Industry, a recent demand has been identified for Robotic Welders. Through this need the Manufacturing Technology in Robotic Welding course has been designed to merge various solutions for automotive materials technology and welding processes.
This program includes intensive welding techniques in GMAW (Gas Metal Arc Welding), GMAW-P (Pulse) and GMAW Aluminum with its various applications for these processes. There are sections for teaching robotic programming, tool considerations and integrations, and best practises. Resistance welding is also included in the curriculum, along with weld characteristics, strengths and weaknesses.

Admission Requirements

-Be at least 18 years of age
-Completed Level 1 Welding
-Excellent Grade 12 Math and Physics Grades

Course Outline

i. Intensive 8 Week program in automotive welding and fabrication
ii. Employment Opportunities in Robotic High Speed Automotive Production
iii. Learn about automotive manufacturing materials utilizing various grades on steel and aluminum
iv. Safely operate and execute robotic welding programs
v. Explore many welding process specific to automotive manufacturing
vi. Review automotive welding codes and standards to assess and determine weld quality

Hours and Duration

Eight [8] week program, Monday to Friday 8:00 am to 3:00 pm [In class instruction] with practical hands on training.
