Welcome to the OSTTC FAQ section. Below are some common questions we receive about our programs, application process, and available supports. If you have additional questions, feel free to contact us directly at 519-445-1515 or info@osttc.com.

To apply for one of our courses or programs, you can:

  • Call or email us to request an application.
  • Pick up an application in person at our OSTTC Reception desk.
  • Apply online by downloading and filling out the application form directly from our website.

Once you've completed your application and submitted all the required documents (such as identification, transcript if applicable, and any other requested information), we’ll schedule you for an interview with our Registrar.

OSTTC works with various community partners to help students access funding:

  • For Six Nations band members:
    You may be eligible for education funding through GREAT (Grand River Employment & Training). We work closely with GREAT to support you through the funding application process.

  • For individuals from other First Nations:
    Contact your own Band’s Education Office for funding opportunities.
  • For individuals accessing Ontario Works (OW):
    Ontario Works can also be a great resource for financial support. Speak to your OW caseworker or visit:

2a. Who else can I contact for funding support?

In addition to GREAT for Six Nations band members, there are several ISETS (Indigenous Skills and Employment Training Strategy) Agreement Holders across Ontario and Canada who may be able to provide support for tuition, transportation, childcare, or other training-related costs.

If you are not a Six Nations band member, or if you live off-reserve, you may be eligible for support through your local ISETS office.

Our programming is community-driven. Each year, OSTTC conducts a Community Needs Survey to gather feedback and better understand the training interests and employment goals of our community. This allows us to design and offer programs that are relevant and impactful.

Your voice matters—be sure to participate in the next community survey!

Yes! OSTTC offers opportunities to complete or renew certifications required in various trades. For example:

  • Weld Tests are offered on the 2nd and 4th Thursday of every month.
  • If you need preparation, you can apply for a Welding Recertification Program.

OSTTC does not provide direct transportation services. However, students have access to local options, including:

  • The GO Transit Bus, which now makes stops throughout Six Nations, with routes extending to Brantford, Hamilton, and Aldershot GO Station in Burlington.

Other transportation services may also be available on the reserve. Contact Student Services for more information or referrals.

While OSTTC does not provide on-campus housing, we do offer resources and referrals to help students find accommodations nearby. For housing on Six Nations, you can contact:
