Narrative Summary

In this 16-week certificate program partnered with Fanshawe College, students will be introduced to the employment and career services sector and the fundamental skills and concepts required to support job seekers and engage with employers. Students gain a practical understanding of employment counselling, labour market navigation, community resources, and basic job development strategies. 

Learners engage in foundational studies of individual and group career counselling, developing an understanding of career planning, career transitions, and strategies for supporting individuals through professional decision-making processes. The curriculum emphasizes communication skills, helping relationships, and the role of career practitioners in supporting diverse populations.

  • Must be 18 years of age or a mature student
  • Obtained a High School Diploma or GED
  • Provide a High School Transcript
  • Interview with Student Services Team
