Narrative Summary

The Foundations in Health Studies program is aimed at individuals who are interested in a career in any healthcare field. This will enable students to make informed decisions about their future and gain foundational knowledge helpful in pursing their career.

In this 16-week certificate program partnered with Fanshawe College, students will learn about anatomy and physiology, medical terminology, medical math, nutrition, human growth and development, practical supportive care skills and more.

This program will further develop career preparation with resume building, interview skills and how to have proper communication, interpersonal, active listening and problem solving skills.

The students will become certified with Standard First Aid with Level C CPR & AED, Basic Life Support, Mental Health First Aid, Psychological First Aid and Gentle Persuasion Approach.

Admission Requirements
  • Must be 18+ years of age

  • Obtained a high school diploma or equivalent

  • Provide a high school transcript

  • Interview with Student Services Team
